Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. It’s a day where we take a step back from our busy day-to-day lives and appreciate everything we have. My whole family has always gathered at my grandparents’ house for Thanksgiving and it is the only day out of the whole year where we are all together.
Working in a school system sometimes puts life into perspective for me. Things that some students truly go without- clothing, food, a safe place to sleep, someone to tell them they love them- are things that I have always had my entire life and hardly ever feel grateful for. I think about things like this on Thanksgiving.
This year I have so many things to be thankful for… finding a new job in this bad economy. Relocating. Stability. Good health. And most importantly, friends and family:
