Nicholas Sparks is my favorite author. I know his books will always be a safe choice… they’re not too long, they’re easy to read and there is always a love story involved. The Notebook (read it way before the movie was even thought of) and The Last Song are two of my favorite books.
That said, I’m starting to kind of get tired of Mr. Sparks’ books :( They are all very predictable and mostly end in a similar fashion. I’ve also started to think that he’s really reaching for a story in some of his plots. Regardless of all of this, I will still religiously buy his books right when they come out. Call me a sucker.
This book was okay but it wasn’t great. It’s about two people who were in love in high school and go their separate ways only to be reunited 20+ years later when one of their mutual friends passes away. I thought the book was kind of dumb 3/4 of the way through but the ending kind of got me so I can’t count it as a total loss. Overall, though, I was pretty disappointed.
It’s okay Nick… you’re still good-looking!
