Long time, no blog!
We’ve been living the day-to-day here in the CLT. I ordered all of my books and have things squared away for my classes this semester. I am also working on applying to some scholarships.
Yesterday was a treat. I took half of a day off of work to spend some time with my madre, who was in town for a doctor’s appointment. We went out to eat and shopped at the Talbot’s outlet. If you’re ever in the Charlotte area and looking for a professional wardrobe, you need to check out that store! I always find great deals and these clothes are actually marked down from being in the regular Talbot’s store (unlike many other outlet stores that manufacture clothes specifically for ‘outlets’ with cheaper material).
Last night, we made reservations at Aria in uptown. It’s Charlotte Restaurant Week here and participating restaurants offer a specific menu for $30. Despite dealing with parking in uptown, we had a really nice time.
Appetizer- Pan Roasted Crabcake
Entree- Basalmic Glazed Salmon
Being in uptown (which Charlotteans call their downtown area) is kind intimidating for us because there are lots of one-way streets and traffic. I ended up parking in the parking garage and walking a few blocks to the restaurant. I really liked Aria and would go back!
