This year has really flown by- I can’t believe it will be New Year’s in less than 2 weeks.
Yesterday was our last student day and today marks the beginning of the most glorious time of the year: Christmas Break. Students do not come back until January 3rd and any time I work between then is optional. I do plan on working a day or two next week but I’m looking forward to resting, relaxing, and reading. I also took a lot of videos in New York that I’m hoping to consolidate in 1 video now that I have some spare time.
I feel very refreshed now that my classes are over. It’s strange to come home from work and not have an assignment to do or a test to study for. This year was also the last time ever that I will have to study for exams on my birthday :)
Christmas shopping is almost done with just a few odds and ends that need to be wrapped up. Something annoying about Charlotte is the horrible traffic around the malls during the holidays, especially the outlet mall. It is so bad that you can’t even get a parking spot. I did not decorate at all for Christmas and I’m more than fine with that. Most of my Christmas stuff isn’t even here and my apartment is too small to put up a tree anyway.
Tonight I started my DICAS application for dietetic internships. The deadline to submit it is February 15th. DICAS is basically a centralized application and fill it out and submit your transcripts and letters of recommendations to that 1 location. Then you pay a fee for each school you want to apply to. The whole system is a matching process. You rank the schools you want to attend, and then you are matched with 1 school based on how you ranked them and how they ranked you. They have a match date in April when they notify you of your school, and you have 24 hours to accept/decline.
Well, I better hit the hay. Goodnight!
