Do you ever have those mornings where you wake up early, thinking you’re going to be soooo ahead today, and yet end up running late? That is how this morning was for me.
I started off the day with a cup of coffee. I don’t usually drink coffee but this morning I was trying to fight off a Starbucks craving:
Breakfast was pretty simple: an apple and almonds
I had what I call a grazing lunch, as in I grazed past my lunch bag every now and then. I ended up randomly eating crackers with hummus, carrots and cheese cubes. I was starving by the time I got off of work so I fixed myself a pre-dinner smoothie:
(frozen berries, banana, skim milk, greek yogurt & vanilla)
I’m not sure what we’re having for dinner yet, but we all know that a lack of planning usually never ends well :) I’m also having a craving for fried pickles that may just have to be handled. Just saying.
So last night I was looking at my internship stuff and almost had a mini-panic attack. I thought getting everything together for my application back in February was involved but that it would be all downhill after that… wrong! I’m actually afraid I’m turning into this:
I realized that I really needed to sit down and create a plan of action as to how I’m going to tackle everything that needs to get done before now and June. Especially because I am working full-time and cannot be completing this stuff during the day. The school sent us a checklist but I need to personalize it.
So here is what I came up with:
Call USU to accept my position in the internship program Make hotel reservation for June orientation
- Buy plane tickets for June orientation
Order background check Get immunization records for Hep B, MMR and tetanus vaccines Schedule appointment for chicken pox titer and TB test
- Submit completed immunization record to the school
Apply to USU (this is a formality but they still need an app on file)
- Complete master rotation schedule
Order IDNT reference manual
- Submit Prior Assessed Learning paperwork (to hopefully get credit for part of my food service rotation)
- Apply for their scholarship program
- Submit FAFSA
- Renew my ServSafe certificate
- Complete confidentiality agreement
- Purchase a headset/microphone for my computer
This is just the list of things I need to get done in the next week or two. I also have assignments that I need to get working on. As you can see, I’ve already started to get as much stuff done as possible. The last ‘big’ thing I need to do is order my plane ticket to Utah. Exciting!
