First and foremost, I would like to take a moment to say pay my respects to all of the brave women and men who have lost their lives serving our country. Let’s not forget that they made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can have our freedom. I’m also thankful to all of the veterans, soldiers and military families out there!
I have enjoyed this much needed 3-day weekend. On Friday I reacquainted myself with an old friend that I hadn’t seen since last fall:
I went on an 11-mile bike ride on the greenway. The weather was amazing and there were a lot of people out that evening. It was fun and a great way to start the weekend! If you hate the gym (like I do) then spring is a great time to find things to do outside.
K and I spent the day in Mooresville on Saturday. We grabbed lunch at The Daily Grind…we had never eaten there before. The food and service were great- I highly recommend this restaurant. The downtown area of Mooresville is pretty cool. There are several restaurants, a coffee shop, and other specialty stores (bead store, wine shop, olive oil shop, etc.). It is a quaint little area.
After lunch, we headed to the lake for a birthday party. Warm weather, margaritas, and live music? Yes, please.
We saw The Great Gatsby down at Movie Studio Grill yesterday. Movie Studio Grill is a theater in uptown that serves beverages and food during the movie. We had 5 tickets purchased through groupon that we had intended to use with K’s family, and we just noticed that they expire next weekend.
We had never been to that theater before so I looked it up on Yelp before we left. Many reviews said the food was not very good so we ate somewhere else before the movie. We enjoyed The Great Gatsby and were surprised that the waiters were not disruptive at all even though they were serving food all throughout the movie. We are going to go again next weekend and we decided we are going to eat lunch there. We want to see for ourselves how the food is. I will report back :)
Today has been pretty chill. I went on a 5-mile walk and laid out at the pool for a little bit. We grilled chicken sausages for dinner.
It is officially 1 week before my internship starts. I still have 5 assignments I need to turn in before orientation and I also need to confirm my flights and hotel reservation. I’m excited… and kind of nervous!
