So, I changed my mind about disliking daylight savings time. I didn’t have the sun shining in my face during my drive to work and it put me in such a good mood this morning It was light outside until after 7pm and that made me so ready for spring.
Time for some Monday Eats…
Breakfast this morning was the usual: coffee and a piece of fruit. I have been working on eating up a bag of pears so I grabbed one of them on my way out the door. I also had a string cheese stick.
This held me over until about 10:30am, and then I had a small handful of almonds.
My office has a tradition that we always get Chinese food anytime something is going on, like a celebration or birthday. This is not exactly a celebration but I am getting ready to have my tonsils removed, so we thought it was only fitting that we got Chinese food before my surgery.
I love getting Chinese food every now and then, but I always feel like it’s difficult to pick a healthy meal option. My tactic today was to order a dish with vegetables and skip the fried rice. I have also been trying to up my iron intake since I’m about to have surgery, which is why I ordered beef today. I hardly ever order beef and didn’t really love what I ordered. I only ate about 1/3 of this… oh well.
I was pretty full for the rest of the day, but I did have a cup of hot tea later in the afternoon.
And then I had a glass of milk when I got home from work.
Dinner tonight was a salad from the Harris Teeter salad bar consisting of spinach, shredded carrots, mushrooms, chickpeas, garbanzo beans, beets, black olives, 2 mozzarella balls, and stuffed grape leaves. I also had some leftover pineapple in the fridge.
Have a good night!
