Hey there- Happy June! How did that happen?
K has had to work for 2 weekends in a row, so we have been homebodies for the past few weeks. I’ve used my alone time to declutter our apartment. We are probably moving at the end of the summer and there is nothing more annoying than moving things that you don’t want/need anymore. I spent several hour on Saturday cleaning out one of our closets and getting rid of a bunch of clothes. Sad story: some of these clothes were from middle & high school. Purchased from the Limited Too. Over 15 years ago. Sad.
5 garbage bags full of clothes (or 75 articles of clothing) later, our closet is now neat and tidy! There’s no better feeling than a huge cleaning project under your belt
In other news, I signed up for a Julep Maven box with a promotion and got the first box free.
I got 3 nail polishes, a lip gloss and eyeliner. So far I have used 2 of the polishes and the gloss, and I’ve unfortunately been disappointed with everything so far. The nail polish colors remind me of wet & wild and the lip gloss was not very pigmented. I’m glad I only paid shipping for this box… I will probably cancel my membership before the next one. This is probably for the best because I’m really trying to tone it down with my cosmetic purchases and all.
So anyway, June is probably one of my favorite months of the year. The weather in Charlotte is amazing, the pool is open, school gets out for the summer, I can permanently wear my rainbows and life is just good. And it also just occurred to me that at this exact time 1 year ago, I was in Salt Lake City beginning my dietetic internship.
I can’t believe how much work went into that entire process and here I am a year later, completely finished. This is also one of the first summers in a LONG time that I am not in school or taking any sort of class. Hallelujah!! I have a real life!!
Here are some things I’m looking forward to in June:
- Hanging out at the pool (with lots of SPF, of course)
- Progressing with running
- Visiting the famer’s market
- Planning a summer vacation with K… this is super hard with our work schedules but we.are.gonna.do.it.
- Pulling out my bike
- Meal planning again <—I’ve completely fallen off the wagon with this one
- Trying fun, new summer recipes
Have a great day!
