Good morning! I hope you’re having a good weekend.
I’m just hanging out with Lily at the moment.
We’ve had a good weekend so far… I had the day off on Friday and it was a nice mix of getting things done around home and having a little ‘me’ time. I worked longer shifts this week, which meant I left for work at 6am and didn’t get home until 5:30, so I wanted to be sure I had a little fun on my day off
I got up when K left for work, walked the dogs and made breakfast:
Then I did a some stuff I had been putting off all week, like laundry, cleaning the bathrooms, getting groceries and changing out one of our shower curtains. I was so on top of being domestic that I even washed our Brita pitcher and changed out its filter.
It’s the little things sometimes.
The rest of the day consisted of some bike shopping, nail painting, a nap and catching up on the DVR. I was actually asleep when K got home from work. I wonder if he thought I slept all day
For dinner, I cooked a pork roast in the crock pot with some asian marinade. We ate it over rice with stir-fry vegetables. I saved half of what as left for another meal this week and stuck the rest in the freezer for another time.
We also had to run an errand and conveniently drove right by Baskin Robbins. And you can’t drive by BR without stopping.
K ended up getting called in to work on Saturday so I decided to use the day alone to visit a few more bike stores. This time I went to South Charlotte so we could meet for dinner when he got off.
So far I have ridden several different models of Trek, Cannondale, Giant, Orbea and Specialized bikes. The one piece of advice I have gotten with road bike shopping is to try out *everything* and I’m definitely trying to do that. The more I ride, the better idea I have of what I do and don’t like in terms of fit and components.
I was able to take a bike out on the greenway in Southpark and it was awesome!
In my opinion, the hardest part of looking for your first road bike is deciding what is going to fit your needs without being ‘too much’ bike. I am really lucky to live in an area with lots of local bike shops, and I’ve gotten some great input to help me figure out what will be the right bike for me
Well I’m off to get this day started. We are planning to meet my family later this afternoon to celebrate my mom’s birthday.
Hope you have a good day!
