Hey guys- happy Monday. Hope your week is off to a great start.
A little weekend recapping: On Saturday, I went on a shopping trip with a very specific mission.
– Buy new goggles
– Find some skinny jeans that fit well
– Return some makeup to Sephora
Since I have been trying to get back into swimming, I’ve been using my old speedo goggles from when I was on the swim team back in high school. They are 10+ years old and I’m surprised I’ve held on to them for this long!
Time has worn out the inside of their lenses, and the coating was beginning to come loose. They are so blurry that I have to take them off to be able to see the clock on the wall at the pool, which I try to keep an eye on so I’m not late to work in the morning. I have tried to buy as little swimming accessories as possible but decided after 2 weeks that I needed some new goggles.
I knew I wanted to stick with the same type of goggle (Speedo Vanquisher) because I like the fit, and to my surprise, Dick’s still carried them! I first picked up the same pink ones as I had before, but then I saw these navy/fuschia pair and decided I liked those better.
I’m going to hang on to my old pink ones just as a back-up pair, so it will be easier to tell the two apart.
I’m excited to try them out
I posted recently about a new foundation purchase- the Tarte amazonian clay full coverage powder foundation. I absolutely l.o.v.e.d. the formula but the color was just a little off with the yellow undertones in my skin.
I’ve tried two different shades now, and this line of foundation is just a tad bit too pink for me. It had great coverage and a beautiful, natural finish, so I’m sad the color matching didn’t work out. (I would absolutely recommend this foundation to anyone if they can find the right color)
A really awesome Sephora sales associate helped me out on Saturday and I ended up purchasing the Make Up Forever Duo Mat Powder Foundation instead. I am a fan of MUFE and have used their foundation for several years, so I was happy when she recommended one of their powder foundations. I find that their foundations are great for people with warm skin tones, and I never have an issue finding a good color match.
I’ve only been wearing it for 2 days but so far I’m liking it. It’s not quite as full coverage as the Tarte but I generally don’t need full coverage, so that was fine with me. It still has a nice finish and doesn’t look cakey (which I find to be the case with many powder foundations).
I’m glad that this foundation is a pressed powder instead of loose. That was one thing I wasn’t crazy about with the Tarte because I find the pressed powders to be less messy and more convenient. I’ll have to post a follow-up to let you know what I think about it after I’ve used it for a while.
I was unsuccessful in this area. I’m on the quest to find a new pair of skinny jeans that fit well and don’t make my legs look like… little stubs. I’m only 5’2 so it definitely takes the right pair of jeans to look okay on me. If anyone has any recs then please send them my way!
Other Weekend Stuff
The other thing I did this weekend was switch out all of my warm and cold weather clothes. Does anyone else absolutely hate doing this?
I have this process down to a science. I store all of my clothes in a tub during their off season, so I first took out all of my winter clothes and washed them.
Then I set everything out on my bed grouped by clothing type (shirts, sweaters, jeans, workout pants, etc).
I took all of my summer clothes and
stuffed them folded them neatly in the bin. Cya later, shorts
Then I organized all of my drawers!
It’s kind of a process so I’m happppppppppy it’s over with! Can’t wait until we move to a bigger place with more storage.
Did you do anything fun this weekend?
I’m headed out the door to brunch with a friend. Hope you have a great Monday!
