Hey guys! Happy Monday! Just checking in here after spending the weekend in Virginia for the wedding of my childhood friend, Katie!
I was originally planning on driving myself, but since I’m at (a very, very small) risk for blood clots being 2 weeks post-op, I decided to play it safe and hitched a ride with my sister. It worked out perfectly because I had plenty of room to stretch out and was able to keep my knee iced for most of the car ride. So thank you to my sister for driving miss daisy ; )
Spending time with my sister is always very educational. She tries to teach me important life skills, such as taking the perfect pouty- lipped selfie. I think I got an F in this lesson… it’s a skill I will never quite master, haha.
After spending most of the past 2 weeks in pajamas laying in the bed, it felt awesome to get dressed up and spend time with friends and family!! Here’s a photo with my mom and sister:
I woke up Saturday morning SO excited for Katie. Our families grew up together and we went to the same church before we graduated high school and moved away. I have so many fond memories of Katie with our sisters from our childhood, and I am so happy that she found someone to share her life with.
The ceremony started in the late afternoon, followed by a cocktail hour and an evening of dinner and dancing. I don’t think I can begin to describe how fun and amazing the night was. Katie looked stunning, the décor was beautiful and you could feel the happiness radiating around the room. It was also great to catch up with friends from back home- I loved seeing everyone.

I was really worried about how I would do with my knee, but turns out after a few drinks I was feeling pretty good! Perhaps a little too good because yesterday was not pretty. Like, the struggle was real. Turns out trying to break it down on dance floor two weeks after an orthopedic procedure is probably not the best idea, but it was totally worth it!!!
Now I’m off to my first PT appointment. Have a great week!!
What did you do this weekend?
