So, who would like to help me pick out a new pair of work tennis shoes?
Earlier this week, I posted about a fascia issue in my right foot. I had a conversation about shoes at my last PT appointment, and my ankles in general have been feeling kind of achy. This all made me realize I’ve been wearing my current pair of work tennis shoes for a year now. I think it’s time for a new pair since I work in a hospital and walk a lot.
I’m limited to grey, black or white sneakers… this is unfortunate because I love my pink Mizunos.
I’ve had these 3 pair of sneakers in my shopping cart since Friday and can’t decide which pair to get. I know this post is kind of silly but please help me! (side note: my work scrubs are teal)
#1: Mizuno Wave Inspire 11 in White/Purple- I freaking love the feel of this tennis shoe. It’s so comfy and feels super supportive yet still lightweight. My only hesitation is that I don’t like the white on white toe / netting part on this Mizuno. They look kind of cheap to me in real life. Not that aesthetics are everything but I am going to be wearing this shoe every day to work.
#2: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 14 in White/Pink- If you read here then you know that I’m a Brooks girl deep down. I’ve worn the Brooks Adrenaline running shoe for years and have always been happy with them. This is actually the exact model of shoe that I’m looking to replace, just in a different color. I’ve tried on the GTS 15, the newer model, but it’s cut a little differently. So I’d prefer to stick with what I know/like in the 14. Anyway, this would be my natural choice since I know and like it, but it kind of takes the fun out of getting a ‘new’ shoe when you’re essentially buying the exact same shoe?
#3 Brooks Purecadence 4 in Grey/Teal- I had a pair of the original Purecadences back in 2011/2012 and felt like I was walking on clouds. When I compare this shoe to the previous 2, my only hesitation is that I haven’t worn these in a while. I have worn the other 2 in the exact models. Maybe this wouldn’t even make a difference since I’m not actually running in them and I’m completely overthinking it. I love the way they feel on my feet, though, and the grey will probably wear better and not look as dirty in a few months.
So there you have it. If this was a running shoe then I would hands down go by comfort/feeling alone. But since it’s just a work shoe and all 3 are comfortable, I’m having a hard time choosing.
