I had a glass (or two) of wine while I was typing this post… so you are in for a real treat today! haha.
But before I get started, don’t forget about the Erin Condren Life Planner giveaway going on until next week. I will announce the winner on Thursday. I think if I ever win the lottery, I would give free planners to anyone who wanted one. Kind of like Oprah.
ANYWAY, here’s what’s been going on lately.
Loving: My knee getting better! I love being active so much and to be sidelined for almost a year has been so incredibly frustrating. I am truly, truly feel so grateful to be feeling better. Like, I cannot even express how grateful I am to the doctors and physical therapists who have helped me <3 I think I still have a long way to go but just being able to do *something* is better than nothing!
Watching: Nothing! Because I cancelled cable. It’s only been 4 days, though, so the verdict is still out. I’ll check back in next month and let you know how if I’m still surviving Speaking of which, I got my new bill and it is STILL wrong and I think I might batshitcrazy on the cable company.
Listening to: “Drunk Dial” by A Thousand Horses. I’m not much of a fan of ‘bro country’ but I do love this type of country. Love them and this song!
Reading: A Prayer for Owen Meany. Has anyone read this? I hear it’s very good! I just started it.
Focused on: Is it bad if I’m not really focused on anything right now? I’m really just livin’ the life, haha!
Okay, I lied. I have been working on my YouTube channel and decorating my place. But “focused on” just sounds so serious.
This reminds me I need your advice about a few decorating ideas… making a mental note for later.
Wondering about: What it would be like to live Uptown (downtown Charlotte). I know I just moved, but my lease is up this spring and I’m hoping to make my way back into the city. Taking the lynx and being able to walk to restaurants just seems fun. Not that I don’t love the country life… I just stepped in a fire ants nest for the 4th time today. In case you are wondering, they are called fire ants for a reason.
Putting off: Putting together an Ikea dresser. I thought it would be an amazing idea to purchase something from the Ikea Tarva line and finish it myself. Ya know, DIY and all. This is turning out really well so far…
#1- I couldn’t even carry the box in because it was so heavy… someone had to help me, lol
#2- I suck at putting together things but didn’t think this would matter when I purchased it
#3- I’m going to go through all of that trouble to put the thing together and *then* have to paint it!
So this should be fun
Craving: Chick Fil A. Why are their waffle fries so. dang. good?
Anticipating: Sharing all of my new nutrition videos with you on YouTube! I really hope you like them. Recording yourself is funny and watching yourself is kind of embarrassing! When I used to work in the schools, one of the cafeteria managers told me I talked like a valley girl. I definitely hear it in my videos!
When I started this blog, my goal was to create FREE nutrition education information for people who were looking to have healthier lives. I’ve gone back and forth about vlogs because honestly, I have a hard time watching them when they are long. I like that I can skim a blog post if I’m short on time or on my lunch break at work, whereas I don’t have the time to sit at my computer and watch someone talk for 20 minutes. So I’ve tried really hard to think about that and make my videos short, sweet and to the point. If you haven’t subscribed to my YouTube channel, here’s the link. I’d love you foreverrrrrrrrrr if you did
Enjoying: Putting together my office! It has been quite a task to find furniture (desk, shelving, small table) knowing that I will probably be moving this spring. I probably will not have an office in my next place, so I was trying to take that into consideration and keep things very inexpensive! Can’t wait to share it with you guys. Sorry I keep saying that…. everything is halfway done. I guess I need to work on finishing just 1 project.
A question for you- esp if you’re handy
I have refinished 2 pieces of furniture and would like to replace the hardware (handles) on the drawers for both. But the sizes are not the conventional sizes that Lowe’s or Home Depot carry. Do I have to drill new holes into the drawers or what?! Someone help a girl out.
What has been going on with you lately?
Feel free to share anything (or everything!) in the comments below:

Have a fantastic day!!
Putting Ikea furniture together is not my forte. It takes me FOREVER and half the time I end up putting a piece on backwards.
I think I decided I’m going to do it this weekend come hell or high water. I shall report back on my adventures :)
I’m so happy that you’re knee is feeling better! I bet you’re stoked and I hope it only continues to improve! I go to the doctor today to figure out what’s up with my shoulder. I hope it all gets figured out because I really miss being able to be active and use my upper body.
I totally stole this survey for my blog post today, but gave you credit :] I’ve been in a tiny blogging rut this week so it was perfect.
Oh yikes, hope everything went well with your appointment! I’ve never had a shoulder issue but I hear they are rough. I’m glad you enjoyed the survey! It is the perfect post when you are in a rut :)
i totally feel ya on the ikea dresser! I just sold mine for more than I was expecting because people didn’t want to have to put it together!
In terms for new handles for your drawers – I replaced mine and had to fill the holes (and drill new ones). That also meant I had to paint over the filled holes…it’s much easier if you can find handles that fit!
Valley girls unite! If I focus on it, I can limit the valley-ness, but if I’m not focused? Forget it!
I’m so glad to hear your knee is feeling better!!
When I filmed my first video, which was awful and embarrassing, I actually re-recorded it because of how valley girl-ish I sounded.
I also haaaaate listening to/seeing myself on camera, which is one reason I’ve been putting off YouTube and Periscope so much. I should probably get over it…..
I brought a desk that was an ‘easy’ assemble desk a little while ago. I ended up having to get my Dad (who has a PhD in engineering) to make a 4 hour round trip to come and help me assemble the stupid thing. Even with his expertise it took us 4 hours, a trip to the hardware store and several misfitted pieces before the desk was finished. Never again!!
Why do I have a feeling my experience is going to be kind of similar? lol
My advice? Get someone round to help and drink wine!! Lots of wine! You will need it! ?
Wine is always the answer!
When my (now) husband and I were re-doing furniture for my apartment at school two years ago we found that the Lowe’s/Home Depot pulls didn’t fit any of the holes, so we bought wood putty, filled the holes, painted, and drilled holes for the pulls that we wanted. It’s a lot of work, but a lot better than holding onto those awful old pulls!

I think that’s what I’m going to have to do… yuck! haha
