Hey guys! H.A.P.P.Y.F.R.I.D.A.Y.
This week has been super busy for me because I have been working on a presentation on nutrition and chronic disease. My portion of the presentation is 45 minutes and I finished everything up last night… lots of info about the latest research on sugar, fats, and sodium. Can’t wait to share some new things with you guys!
In addition to nutrition stuff, I’ve been busy getting used to the scooter life.
I was completely hating on the scooter until I used crutches to get from the parking lot to my office. I thought I was going to die. So now I <3 my scooter. I have gotten a little bit of flack for it at work, but if I can give people a good laugh then I guess it’s not so bad
Nutrition in the News
Dietary supplements send 23,000 people to the ER each year: okay, so I’m kind of giving the side-eye to the mention of Lamar Odom in this but there’s still some useful info.
Low protein diet and calcium malabsorption: an interesting read for those who may not be getting enough protein
The controversy over fats and if/which ones are bad for you: I have seriously been knee-deep in studies about this for the past 2 weeks. I honestly cannot jump on the saturated fats bandwagon, yet. I read plenty of studies showing the benefits of decreasing them and replacing them with unsaturated fats. So much more room for research!
That’s it for today!
What are your thoughts on saturated fats?
What are you up to this weekend? I am relaxing and looking forward to it!!!!
