Hey there, my people. Happy Monday! I hope you have recovered from daylight savings time, at least enough to get through this morning
This weekend, I decided to venture downtown with some friends to check out a St. Patrick’s Day pub crawl. I have never done this before because 1.) I don’t drink beer and 2.) the thought of being with 20,000 inebriated people seems a little…. not so fun. But I wasn’t doing anything and it was going on and I thought if anything that it would be entertaining!
We went downtown in the early afternoon to pick up our official Pub Crawl shirts. These were like our entry tickets into all of the bars without having to pay a cover. They were also awesome because it meant I didn’t have to pick out an outfit that day.
We hopped around to several bars and ate dinner in between there at The King’s Kitchen. If you are ever in Charlotte, please check out this restaurant! They donate 100% of their profits to feed the less fortunate in Charlotte and they also provide jobs to people in need. And their food is super good!
What I learned this weekend is that people who go to bar crawls wear pretzel necklaces to provide some sustenance during the intense events of day drinking. I may or may not have eaten some. What?! I needed carbohydrates.
Nothing too crazy happened during this all day drinking-fest except that a very tall gentleman accidentally poured his beer on me while attempting to grind up on me from behind. It was kind of like a cascading waterfall of beer, right on me. Very picturesque.
Nights like these are a welcome reminder that I’m not as young as I once was But it’s fun every now and then. I do have lots of embarrassing pictures from the events of that day but I will respect all parties involved and not post them on the internet.
I am getting back into a workout routine and it feels really great! I am sticking with my physical therapy plan of rotating all sort of activities and incorporating rest days. I will save the details for another post but in the past week I have ridden my bike, run and been in the weight room. I am also loving my new shoes.
Oh, and I have been very careful about my post-workout nutrition.
Carbs + protein = healthy. Yup.
What did you do this weekend?
Have you ever been to a pub crawl?
Do you get random drinks spilled on you at bars or is that just me?
