Hey guys! Hope you’re having a good week. Thanks so much for your comments on my last post about living arrangements. I’ve got a lot of decisions to make but I’m excited about it!
In other news, I have spent the past month or so easing back into working out. Things are going really well and I’m excited to share an update with you!
I always have some cuddle time with the Lilers as I’m putting on my shoes. And yes, I did take this picture with my selfie stick #noshame #crazydoglady
I kind of thought I would want to be on my bike all.the.time. once I started exercising again but it hasn’t happened yet. This is a combination of the weather and not being ready to put a bike rack on my new car yet I did ride my bike once and it was awesome. Can’t wait to ride more!
I have gone on several runs recently and they all went really well. It was surprising to me that I was able to just pick off where I left off even though it has been well over a year since I ran any substantial distance. I always start out by walking and then move to a light jog after about a half of a mile. My first run was 0.25 mile and the next run was 0.5 mile. I had to make myself stop both times because I felt like I could just keep going!
My physical therapist recommended I do a walk-run type deal until I establish my strength and endurance. I’m really not good at this! I either want to walk or run, so alternating is hard. I know if I reallllly want to get back into running that I need to listen to this advice.
Saving the best for last.
Strength training and following my PT plan is really the foundation of my workouts right now. I do a variety of things to continue building strength in my legs, such as floor exercises, squats, lunges and working out on all of the leg equipment in the gym.
It’s always amazing to me how much of a physical difference it makes once you start getting into the weights. I feel so much stronger and my legs look more defined. I’m hoping this keeps me injury-free!!
Thank you to all of my blogging buddies who write about fitness and exercise. Your posts have kept me motivated!
What’s your favorite workout right now?
How is the weather where you are? It has been warm in NC but the past few days were kind of chilly.
