Hey guys! Hope you had a great weekend I worked but was able to enjoy a nice dinner out on Saturday evening with B and some of his friends. For all of you Charlotteans, we went to Nolen’s Kitchen and it was really good. And because I am a great blogger, I took no pictures!
Aside from working and date night, a highlight of my weekend was getting my bike back from the bike shop!
I got a trainer tire from the shop and they put it on my bike for me. All good to go now. I bought the trainer used so I had no manual or anything. I realized I needed a skewer that was strong enough to handle the trainer, so I actually had to make a 2nd trip to the bike shop over the weekend. The skewer is the little piece that holds the wheel onto the bike, and also that clips into the trainer.
The first thing my sister said about these pictures is that my room is really messy. And that I need to stop using the pillow case that my mom made for me when I was in high school. Gotta love the honesty that comes along with sisters.
After I put on the new skewer, it was pretty easy to set my bike up. I rode for 50 minutes in my room!
I liked the convenience of being able to ride at home. Obviously I can’t ride outside right now anyway, but it’s to hot and humid. The bikes at the gym has a 30-minute time limit and then they cut off. I think I will enjoy riding inside right now is a good fit, especially with my cast.
Did you do anything fun this weekend?
What are you up to this week? I have off on Tuesday since I worked this weekend.
I love that one of the pics in your background is of grapefruit. Is the other one of granola?!
That’s so exciting that you’re able to ride at home – for as long as you like! The treadmills at my gym have a 60 minute limit, which is generous but not generous enough for long runs, so I know the frustration of having to stop and start again.
The other one is of Lily!!! Haha. I have thought about taking a picture of grapefruit and granola, though. I still need to hang those. I do understand the time limit at that specific gym because it is SO crowded at peak times, but it’s a bummer when there’s no one there and you have to completely get off of the bike. Hope you had a good weekend!
I have that exact same bike trainer! I really like it, especially in the winter when I would be way to scared to venture outside with my bike. We went hiking this weekend and I did a long run. Saturday we mostly slept and hung around house all day. Not a bad weekend! :)
That sounds like a great weekend! I’ve only used the trainer once but I like it so far :)
I need to get one of those bike racks and bike trainer!!
I have the Saris Bones 2 trainer and I love it!
