Hey guys and happy Monday! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! Mine was busy but fun and filled with lots of family time.
I kicked off the weekend by going to Panther’s Fan Fest down at the Bank of America Stadium.
It was basically like a big pep rally for the team. There was a concert, the cheerleaders were there and the team played a scrimmage.
I have lived in Charlotte for 5 years and it has been really fun experiencing the team spirit that has developed over the years after Cam Newton became the quarterback. This year you had to actually have tickets to come to Fan Fest and they sold out because the event was so popular. I waiting “in line” on the website for over 30 minutes trying to get them!
My favorite part of the evening was a laser show at the end. It sounded corny in the program but it ended up being pretty cool. They turned out the lights in the stadium and played music with colored lasers and fireworks. Everyone had glow sticks as well.
The whole night made me even more excited for football season!
B and I got up bright and early to go to my mom’s house at Lake James to celebrate her birthday. She and John just finished building their retirement home there this spring and they were excited to share their newly finished and unpacked house. My mom had 1 request for her birthday and that was that we all came in and spent the night in the new house. She doesn’t ask for a lot in this world so we were happy to make the short trip.
My mom and John got a pontoon as well so we took it out on the water and enjoyed a day on the lake. The weather was absolutely perfect and we had a great time.
The entertainment of the day was going tubing, although I was bummed that I couldn’t go because of my wrist. The ortho recommended I don’t do anything to put major stress on it for 4-6 weeks. I did enjoy watching everyone else out on the water, though!
It is always nice to spend a day with the fam now that we are older and living in different places!
Sunday was pretty low key… we came back after breakfast and I did way too many loads of laundry, grocery shopped and got in a ride for my tri training.
Today is a big day for me… I will be sharing details on Wednesday
What did you do this weekend?
Do you get together with your family a lot? We mainly get together for birthdays and holidays.
