Hey guys! Happy Monday.
I am coming off of the most chill weekend ever. I had no real plans, which was great because I have been really tired and busy for the past few weeks. This post is pretty short and sweet because I spent 75% of the weekend lounging and relaxing!
Sycamore Brewing Saturday Food Truck Brunch
I started the weekend out by meeting a friend at Sycamore Brewing in South Charlotte. They had a food truck brunch with mimosas.
I got the scrambled eggs topped with avocado cream sauce, onions, roasted peppers and bacon. It was SO good! Going to need to incorporate an avocado cream sauce into more things
Furbabies make the best brunch dates. Lily couldn’t come because she basically hates people. Girl doesn’t know how to hold it together in public.
First Run
I went out for an early morning run this weekend through downtown Charlotte. The morning temps were nice and crisp… such a great fall feeling! It was my first run since the tri! Things are back to normal now that the protesting has calmed down.
I actually ended up only running 1/2 mile and walked the rest due to some asthma issues, but it still felt great to get outside again.
P.S. my facebook friends pointed out that there are shirtless guys in this picture! I really had not noticed when I snapped the picture, but further proof that Charlotte has some great scenery in downtown
Other Weekend Randoms
I mentioned I was on the lookout for a new black handbag, and I ended up purchasing the Tory Burch Robinson Small Robinson Tote last week. I started using it yesterday and so far I love it.
I have been loving this bag for a while but I ended up pulling the trigger when TB was having a 30% off sale. I think it’s so classic and the perfect size (not too big, not too small).
I also did some adulting this weekend- got my oil changed and went grocery shopping. B convinced me to watch the Ryder Cup with him yesterday, which reinforced something I generally already knew… I don’t love golf.
This Week
I am hoping to sit down tonight and re-evaluate my health and fitness goals for this fall now that my triathlon is in the rear view mirror. I know that will consist of:
- Looking at some upcoming races in the area to see if anything appeals to me
- Research some local group rides to get some social time while cycling!
- Plan some outdoor activities: hiking or biking the creeper trail are two on my mind
- Renew my YMCA membership. I’ve had the application sitting on my nightstand for a week
That’s about it for today. I hope you have a great week!
What did you do this weekend?
What are you health and fitness goals this fall? Any races/events coming up?
That TB bag is beautiful! I am on the hunt for a new bag right now too. I really shouldn’t buy one since I have a lot of housing expenses coming up soon, but somebody has to buy me a “congrats on your new house” purchase and that person is going to be ME! #independentwomen :D
I’m a firm believer that a purse is always an appropriate purchase to celebrate any sort of life event!
I love my YMCA! As far as fitness & health goals go, I’ve been eating a lot less refined sugar lately and only eating dessert when it’s reallyyyyyy worth it so not every day like I have at some points in the past, so to keep that going strong is my goal!
Less refined sugar is a great goal! I have also worked on that over the past year, especially after the newer research about sugar and chronic disease.
I love the Sycamore Brunch! What food truck was there this week? I miss running through downtown :)
I forgot the name of it!!! I was too busy scarfing down that avocado cream sauce to take note :) This was my first time going to the Sycamore brunch but I really enjoyed it. And an added bonus was great weather!
