Hey guys! Happy Friday!
I have wrapped up the craziest of crazy weeks over here, which is why I have been lacking in the blogging department this week.
It’s kind of a long story but I moved this past weekend! My roommate and I ended up finding out last Friday (righttt at the end of the day) that we would need to move out of our downtown apartment in less than a week. So we basically packed up our entire apartment and moved in about 2 days. I had a lot of obligations after work this week so most of my stuff is still sitting in boxes. I’m planning on unpacking them soon… right after I take a bubble bath and sleep :)
But let’s catch up!
Happy belated Valentine’s Day to all of my health/wellness/nutrition loves out there! I’m not much into the holiday but B and I did enjoy a lovely dinner at Evoke in Charlotte.
Half Marathon Training
I missed my 4-mile run on Sunday because I was moving, and I was unable to make myself run longer than 2 miles throughout the whole week. I think this was mostly a result of exhaustion and stress. One night I tried to run on the treadmill but couldn’t make it past 1 mile (still have no idea how you treadmill runners do it) and then yesterday I ran for about 2 miles in my new hood before calling it quits. I’m hoping a little rest over the next day or two will help me find some new motivation!
If you follow me on Instagram then you probably saw already that I got a new Garmin watch! I decided on the FR 920xt because I liked the functionality better for triathlon training. I’ve used it once so far and it’s so much lighter than my old 305. I’m looking forward to tracking many miles with this, and I can’t wait to get it all set up to track the stats from the computer on my road bike.
Besides unpacking, one big thing on my to-so list is decide on a bridesmaids dress for my sister’s wedding. It has to be short and black. I’ve learned the hard way that this 5’2 body needs to try things on in the store, and ordering things online is not a great idea.
My workout plan this week is:
- Tonight- rest
- Tomorrow- 30 minutes cross train (thinking of a bike ride if the weather is nice)
- Sunday- 4 mile run
I’m also thankful that I have off on Monday. Some major meal planning will be going on around here! I’ve gotten in the habit of making a large batch of something at the beginning of week (like slow cooker chili) to take for a few leftover meals on Mon/Tues/Wed for lunch. I’m planning on making a new dish this week to change things up! Any suggestions?
