Hey guys! Happy Friday!
I hope you’ve had a great week! If you’re wondering why my blog has looked a little wonky, it’s because I’m trying to create a new blog feed within my site that is just my dietitian/career posts. The person who created my blog theme has been helping me and I thought we had things squared away. But then I saw that my RD page posts apparently still come up on my regular blog feed. So if you got an email yesterday with a test post… you’re welcome Hopefully I can get things worked out with that this weekend!
This week has been a doozy with my half marathon training. Guys. What was I thinking?
I’ve had a rough week with training. I did a 4-mile run on Sunday and a 3.5-mile run on Tuesday. My pace is ~14:45/mile. I was encouraged when I did my 4 miles (the first time I’ve ever run that far) but then I skipped almost everything else this week because I was so tired. I thought I would get into a groove with running as my mileage started to increase but everything just feels really difficult. When I was training for my tri, I felt like everything was mostly fun and I loved it. I’m not sure what’s different this time around?
The silver lining to my poor training is deciding that some new workout clothes would motivate me. I wanted these exact shorts a few months ago at Lululemon and I found them this week on the clearance rack!!! It was like a sign.
These shorts are the LLL Run Times Short and they’re my favorite running shorts of all time. The waist band is so comfortable and the 4” inseam prevents discomfort when running. I like that they are not too short but not too long, and they don’t ride up either. I was pretty happy when I found them on sale.
Another fun thing to share from this week is that my work has started doing Food Truck Fridays. I usually spend my entire day inside and I’m happy to have the opportunity to walk outside and get a little fresh air. I got a greek salad with a chicken kebab for lunch today. It was a nice treat!
There’s not much on the agenda for this weekend besides getting some G & G work done. I’m in the process of contracting with insurance companies to be able to accept insurance for nutrition counseling. I’m almost finished getting set up with BCBS, and I need to complete some of the final steps for that. I’m excited!
I also picked out a chicken dish with avocado tabbouleh that I’m planning on cooking this weekend. I found the recipe in my new cookbook and I’m looking forward to trying something new!
What are you up to this weekend?
How was your week?
