Hey guys!
Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week and are ready for the weekend. Here are a few things from this past week:
Couch shopping
When B and I decided to move in together, we knew we were facing a couch predicament. Both of us had fairly new couches, but neither of them were very deep or long. Not very comfortable for lounging together while watching TV or a movie. After going back and forth a lot about whether we wanted to replace newer couches, we decided to look for something that will be more comfortable for he both of us.
We have been couch shopping for a few weeks and ended up going with the Crate and Barrel Lounge II couch. We actually ordered the couch, loveseat and ottoman to have the matching set, and I used a moving coupon from when I changed my address to save some $. They haven’t gotten here yet but I will be sure to post pictures when they do. Here’s our current couch (B’s couch):
The Lounge was actually the very first couch we looked at and we loved it. I just wasn’t crazy about the limited color options since I knew we did not want microfiber. But after doing a bunch more shopping- and sitting- we knew the lounge was our favorite. We narrowed it down between their “Steel” grey color and the “Cement” cream color pictured here. We actually both liked the Cement color the best but were afraid about the light color staining easily.
The sales lady in C & B was super helpful and pointed out that since the kitchen cabinets are white and the counter tops are lighter, the darker couch would give a better contrast when you’re looking into the room. So we decided to go with the grey!
The couch and ottoman are supposed to be here in a few weeks but the loveseat won’t be ready until this summer.
Broccoli and Cheese Soup
Last week I tried making a lighter version of broccoli and cheddar soup. I had cooked and frozen a bunch of fresh broccoli that was leftover from a tailgating vegetable dish, and I wanted to use it so it would stop taking up so much space in the freezer. This was actually my first time ever making broccoli and cheddar soup. It was good, but I’m hoping to redo the recipe to make it *great* and share it with you:
I used broccoli, vegetable broth, milk, sour cream, diced celery and carrots, cheddar cheese and seasonings. It actually wasn’t hard, minus trying to use my immersion blender in the first time in years
Half Marathon Training
Guys, I can’t wait for this training to be over. That is all.
This weekend
I actually don’t have much on the agenda tomorrow or Sunday besides a long run! I need to file my taxes also. #professionalprocrastinor
What are you up to this weekend?
Do you like furniture shopping? I like the thought of it but found that I got overwhelmed easily looking at all of the options!
