Hey guys! Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week and are ready for a fantastic weekend. There is a sidewalk art show down the street tomorrow so we may check that out, but don’t have many plans otherwise. We tried to go to a Mexican tonight for Cinco de Mayo and that did not work out well- a 2 hour wait! Anyway, I thought I’d check in with a ‘Lately’ post.
Living with B! You may remember that we moved in together in February. We have polar opposite schedules and had to go out of our way to see each other before we moved in together. For example, sometimes B would stop by my apartment on the way home from work to say hi to me as I was going to bed. The only time we got to spend quality time together was when we had scheduled date nights. I’m grateful that we can see each other a little more often now.
So, my new life motto in 2017 is that eating healthy doesn’t have to be complicated. or time consuming. or difficult. I don’t have time to spend 1 hour in the kitchen each day like I used to, and I’m sure you can related to this.
Peanut butter sandwiches for lunch have been my jam lately. I find that I am so busy during that day that I often don’t feel hungry, and half of the lunches that I pack end up coming back home in my lunch bag. PB sandwiches are super simple, and I can leave a jar of peanut butter in my desk at work so that I can make the sandwich at my desk. My favorite peanut butter these days is Crazy Richard’s. I like that it doesn’t have any ingredients except peanuts. I also listened to an interview with one of the owners and I really love that it is a family company!
Scandal. Southern Charm. Real Housewives of New York (continuing my girl crush on Bethenny).
All.the.podcasts. I commute for about 2 hours per day and try to fill up my drive time with podcasts. I like to mix it up between work and entertainment. Here are my favorites:
- The LadyGang
- Guys we f*cked
- Blissful Bites
- Building a StoryBrand
- Entrepreneur on Fire
- Online Marketing Made Easy
- Smart Passive Income
I would like to add in a few more entertainment podcasts. Let me know if you have suggestions!
I am re-reading 6 Months to 6 Figures, which I originally read in October. It can be downloaded from Amazon. I hate the name but it gives amazing business advice! It is actually the book that motivated me to move forward with starting my business. I would also like to read Plan B by Sheryl Sandburg. I really loved Lean In.
Growing my private practice. You know the saying “If they build it, they will come,” ? Well, that does not apply to nutrition counseling :) I’ve done a few online courses and joined a business support group, and these have been great business resources for me.
Will I ever be able to run in a half marathon?!
Going to the dentist. You know how much I hate it! I actually had been putting it off for months but I just went today.
I have spent the last week reaching out to a ton of local contacts. I’m looking forward to connecting with people!
Doing my nails. I recently decided to start giving myself manicures and I’m really liking it! I’m not a fan of getting my nails done because I’ve had a few bad experiences getting my cuticles cut a bit too short. But having prettier nails makes me happy, and I’ve started a bit of a self care ritual where I watch Real Housewives and do my nails. I have been so busy these past few months with starting my business that it’s nice to take a few moments for myself.
(here’s my 5-day old manicure )
Please tell me- what is on your “lately” list?
