I hope you are enjoying this steaming hot July. It has been in the 90s here in Charlotte! Hot hot hot. I have been overcoming bronchitis for the past 3 weeks after getting sick in Greece. I think I’m finally feeling better! I shall never take for granted sleeping through the night again.
So, I realized something yesterday… in case you didn’t catch the memo when I rebranded in January, the url to this website is ggnutritionco.com and the url to this blog is ggnutritionco.com/blog
You may have noticed over the past week that if you went to grapefruitgranola.com (my old blog) that it says the website was unavailable. That’s because I had been paying to host my old website and redirect the URL to my new website and then it expired last week. At some point, I want to stop doing this since I’m essentially paying for 2 websites, but I realized this week that people were still using my old URL. I also don’t know a ton about websites so maybe I can just redirect the domain but not host my old content? Not sure. I need to do some more research on this! I am going to go ahead and grapefruitgranola.com again but if you could please bookmark my new url then I will love you forever!
I haven’t done one of these in a while so let’s catch up! Here’s what’s been going on with my lately!
My instant pot! I’ve had it sitting around the kitchen since this spring and last night was the first time I’ve used it. I decided to use the pressure cooking function to make chicken BBQ. One of my motivating factors to using it vs. my crock pot was that I forgot to put the thicken in the crock pot when I got home.
I watched a tutorial on the Instant Pot website and then googled around for some recipes. There was a bit of a learning curve but overall I liked how convenient and quick it was. I will be using it more in the future!
Also, Kristina sent me some office supplies from Beamm.co. Check out these pens and binder clips. I freaking LOVE the pens and how they write! They’re so pretty. And your purchase goes towards helping pets.
This week is Charlotte Restaurant Week where many local restaurants let you dine with a fixed menu for $30-35. Last night we took advantage of the event and went to Carpe Diem for date night.
I had a grilled grape salad, scottish salmon over roasted potatoes and a chocolate crème brulee for dessert. SO GOOD!
Guys, I got suckered into watching BravoTV again. It’s bad. I am watching the Real Housewives of the OC and NYC, as well as Shah of Sunset. I can’t help myself! WHY is Shannon so crazy? Why do I have a girl crush on Bethenny? Life’s greatest questions.
I’ve added a few new podcasts to the mix lately, mainly because we have been traveling a lot this summer and I like listening to podcasts more than reading these days. This first podcast I added is Brandi Glandville Unfiltered. I wanted to listen to some of her Real Housewives interviews. Unfortunately, I feel like she talks about herself way too much and doesn’t do a very good job of interviewing her guests, so I will likely be deleting it soon. I also downloaded Young House podcast because I really liked their blog and listening to a home improvement podcast is a nice way to change things up.
Continuing to build my business! Things have been growing and I’m just so grateful and happy to be doing something that I really love. I recently got my very own office and it is great to have my own space to work with clients.
Anything to do with wedding planning! B has never been married before and I have, so there’s a bit more thought going into what type of wedding we want to have. The most important thing to us is that the day is about celebrating our love for each other and being able to share that with the people who mean the most to us. We are trying to decide on a date and location now
B got an award for work last week, and his company flew us to a mini-vacation in San Antonio, TX. It was kind of funny that it happened the week after we got back from Greece but nevertheless I am super proud of B. He works so hard and it was fun to see him be recognized.
That’s it for today. What are you up to this weekend? We are on our way to a family reunion this weekend!
I’d love to hear from you- what are you Loving / Eating / Watching / Listening / Reading / Focusing on / Putting off / Anticipating / Enjoying lately?
