Q: I’ve never seen a dietitian before. What should I expect?
Our first visit will start out by discussing your pre-appointment paperwork. I will review your past medical history, your current medications, and your nutrition history. We will also delve deep into why you are seeking the help of a dietitian so that I can completely understand your desired results and outcome.

Q: I’m interested in nutrition counseling but I still have a lot of questions. What should I do?
I encourage you to schedule a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation. The purpose of this phone call is to gain clarity on how I can help you meet your nutrition goals. Feel free to ask me any questions about my nutrition philosophy! It’s also a great opportunity to see if we are a good fit for each other. Q: Do you accept insurance? What is my coverage?
I am contracted as an in-network provider with the following BlueCross BlueShield plans: Blue Advantage, Blue Care, Blue Options, Blue Select and the NC State Health Plan. If you have one of these plans then you would schedule an appointment and I will file your visit with your insurance after your appointment. Please note that I am unfortunately not an in-network provider for Blue Local.
In terms of coverage, everyone’s plan is different. Many plans cover nutrition counseling at 100% as preventative healthcare. You can check with your insurance company using this form to determine what type of coverage your insurance plan has for nutrition counseling.
I also provide a superbill upon request if you would like to file your visit with a different insurance plan.
Q: I don’t want to travel to your office. Do you offer virtual appointments?
I do provide virtual and telephone visits! I provide nutrition coaching via telephone, Skype, FaceTime or whatever method works best for you. Please note that these visits are typically not covered by insurance. I would encourage you to contact your insurance provider to see what’s covered.
Q: I would like to lose weight. Do you provide weight loss counseling?
A: I do provide weight management coaching as it relates to health and wellness efforts. This means that our primary focus during sessions will center around healthy eating and lifestyle behaviors rather than the number on the scale. In addition to discussing nutrition, these sessions also include conversations regarding sleep, stress and physical activity- all things that can affect weight. Changes in these behaviors may or may not lead to weight loss depending on each individual.
My goal with G&G Nutrition Co is to promote health and wellness from the inside out. I love to help clients find the “healthy weight” that their body is meant to be so that they can stop the cycle of yo-yo dieting and weight loss followed by weight gain.
