Listed below are some frequently asked questions. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have additional questions.
Q: I’ve never seen a dietitian before. What should I expect?
Our first visit, an initial nutrition assessment, will be spent going over all of the information I need in order to make customized nutrition recommendations for you. We will talk about your past medical history, nutrition-related history, food preferences, current diet, medications, home life, stress, your schedule and most importantly – what your goals are with meeting with a registered dietitian. We will go through what a day in your life looks like and I will look over a 3-day food diary that you will complete prior to your first visit. Follow-up visits will be focused on reviewing specific nutrition topics customized to you. We will set nutrition goals at each appointment, and work through any obstacles that prevent you from meeting your goals.
Q: How do I work with you?
Schedule a free discovery call here so that we can talk about your nutrition goals and see if we’re a good fit to work together!
Q: What are your fees?
A: My services are $1500 for a 3-month commitment. This includes six bi-weekly nutrition sessions, check-ins in between sessions and unlimited messaging support. Payment plans are available and your BlueCross BlueShield coverage can be applied to the package. I also accept HSA and FSA cards.
Q: Do you accept insurance? What is my coverage?
A: I accept insurance for North Carolina residents only. I am contracted as an in-network provider with the following BlueCross BlueShield plans: Blue Advantage, Blue Care, Blue Options, Blue Select, the NC State Health Plan, the Federal Employee Program, Blue Value and Blue Local with Wake Forest Health. Please note that I am unfortunately not an in-network provider for Blue Local Atrium at this time. Currently due to COVID-19, BCBS is extending their coverage to Telehealth visits.
If I am in network with your insurance plan, you can check with your insurance company using this form to determine what type of coverage you have for nutrition visits. Many plans cover nutrition coaching at 100% as preventative healthcare.
Nutrition coverage with packages: If you have coverage for visits, then this coverage would be subtracted out of the total package price. Health insurance unfortunately does not cover support in between sessions.
I also provide a medical receipt (called a superbill) upon request if you would like to file your visit with a different insurance plan.
Q: How will we meet?
Virtually! All of my visits are held in my HIPAA-compliant electronic medical record system called Simple Practice. I previously saw clients local to the Charlotte area in my Dilworth office, but those visits have been moved to virtual due to Covid-19.
Q: I live in Charlotte. Where is your office located?
1200 E. Morehead St. Suite 20, Charlotte, NC 28204. Please note that I am not seeing clients in person due to COVID-19.
